The devs haven't even confirmed that there will be 1.7.

I like the checkpoint feature. Some of my long levels can surely benefit from these checkpoints. I do recommend making them activated only once in each level.

What kind of things would we want in a 1.7 release? Adding new features is great, but that's more code to test and more code that could go wrong. I think ew features should be easily implemented with minimal code and provide benefit to lots of players. iIf we did another release any time soon, it would probably be 1.6.1, since most of the changes since 1.6.0 were bug fixes and minor things.

My ideas:

  • Clocks

  • Switches and teleporters that can be disabled without physically blocking their area

  • Variable height for goals and switches

  • Basic checkpoint: When you fall out, teleport back to the checkpoint and retain speed from when you first crossed the checkpoint, BUT time is still spent

  • Backwards paths

  • Forking paths, determined by the state of a given switch

@chmod 700 I also want coins that change gravity as well as switches that trigger sound effects as well as motion. These ideas could be implemented.

I noticed a bug where my language was set to english and whenever i fall out, I hear something like "Ev tutti lamacht", which doesn't sound english.

From a game design standpoint, coins that change gravity make no sense. In my opinion, anyway.

Switches could change gravity, though. They're an established environmental trigger, and gravity is part of the environment.

    On that note, what about moving teleporters and moving switches? It would be nice to have a switch that rides on top of a moving platform, for example. Right now, relativity does not work in the Neverball world.

Yeah, I think allowing other objects like switches, coins, teleporters, and goals to move would be nice.
