I have another small suggestion when you finish you update, change the set shot for Extreme IV to something else instead of Boxes because it spoils the final level.

Will do @KodeBreaker. BTW, I'm tryna expand on the boxes level, but i'm afraid that the compiler might say overflow due to complexity limits, which will cause compilation issues. Does anyone know the complexity limits for brushes and entities?

Re: Neverball Extreme

I have a level that 3264 lumps with 109 entities. I checked Boxes, and it has 1,690 lumps but with 1,068 entities.

I'd say just keep compiling the level every time you add something to make sure it is compile-able.

I have a level that 2196 lumps with 1241 entities. Boxes, which has 1,690 lumps and 1,068 entities, is less than that.

I'll just keep compiling my level 20 every time I add something to make sure it is compile-able. If it ever breaks, I will let you know.

Seems to me shot boxes underlines the complexity of the set smile

I love the new changes. But I kinda miss Maze 2, it was one of my favorite levels from you.

I'm sorry if you miss maze2. I removed it as I was not very satisfied with its quality. I might reforge maze2 in a future release.

Re: Neverball Extreme

  • Did you not add records, or am I not seeing them just because I pasted the new levels directly over the old ones I had in my neverball?
    extreme

  • I see you moved the MIT level out of bonus territory...

  • 20: What is it with you, huge jumps, and supermassive goals/teleports? (Is it just me, or is it weird to have a speed level with the alien5 soundtrack? I generally think of that as more puzzle-y or careful-y, and ocean2 and city3 as more for speed. But that might just be me.)
    extreme2

  • 07: Thanks for only requiring ONE of the two loops to be jumped! I was able to get atop the first loop 4-6 times, but I would always fail on the second one. Then later I discovered the four 5's...

  • II, III: Interesting. It took me 4 tries on II to realize the platform moved (after looking for invisible ramps). I thought III was an accidental duplicate of II... but it was still too easy.

  • 15: Too easy to cheat...

  • 19: OK, but I dislike the coin clusters. It is also not really "high speed".
    extreme3

  • 13: Where is the stop switch?

  • 16: Too repetitive and boring. I also deliberately went into an obvious dead end, expecting coins, and found none.

  • 18: Great way to lose lives in challenge mode. (You can only get 2-3 lives, and the level is very dangerous.)

  • 19: I liked the old idea, but I like the new implementation. (The random spinner got annoying after trying like 5 times to reach that last platform.)

  • 20: This level is too confusing. I got it second try. There are some unwalled sections of the outside track that should be fixed.
    extreme4

  • II: Yeah, the background for this was off last time.

  • 11: I never had the precision to complete the original, and thus cannot do this one either. At least the textures are less distracting.

  • 18: Ugh, I hate this level... but my favorite part is escaping that super-annoying cage!!!

Re: Neverball Extreme

@chmod700 Extreme I Level 20 is based off of Tones's hot wheels level and I got inspired by BuD's Highway to throw in the supermassive goal. For Extreme II Level 7, I recommend landing on top of the large loop near the goal. I didn't put a stop switch in Extreme III Level 13 because that level is based on Frogger (Hard Level 9) which doesn't have a stop switch. Extreme III Level 20 is supposed to simulate a dark ride and roller coaster, so not all parts are walled.

Re: Neverball Extreme

Full feedback for new version:

Extreme II:

Conerail: I like the obstacles added on the lower straights but they still feel incredibly long. Keep the obstacles on them but make the lower straights with hill-type obstacles shorter. The curved one is fine.

Extreme III:

Goaltube: Don't like how long platform moves. It's way too slow.

Overall levels I missed:

100Rooms (Didn't like how I couldn't see anything but the idea itself was cool).
Maze2
Conerail2 (Still had really long straights but the level itself was cool. To fix the straights, you shorten them, add obstacles like in the first one, or add teleporters.)

The update itself was an overall great improvement. Especially the new levels added, I love Pyramid2 and Frogger2.

NOTE: I also sent you a private message on Discord.

Re: Neverball Extreme

Currently playing through your revised sets and enjoying this a lot. In my opinion the quality and composition of your sets improved considerably.

"City" is still one of my favourite levels overall, it's only that the glass cube travel takes way too long. Right now I'm trying to fast-unlock this level in < 3 minutes.

Also really like the new levels, they are a welcome addition. I don't miss "Rooms" at all and I think it was a good decision to finally include only one "Conerail" level.

Will post some replays shortly.

Cheers

Re: Neverball Extreme

Extreme 1

Bonus Level I: at some point it's hard to see the ball. Perhaps making one floor transparent would solve the limited view in the middle of the pyramid

Bonus Level V: Couldn't resist to take the shortcut again (to prevent people from doing this maybe building a glass front around the platform with the teleporter would make sense)
...but tried the long way as well this time - otherwise it's just too easy.
I've also noticed that it's possible to get the yellow coins without activating the trap door (see long replay of V) - don't know if this is intended. Overall I love the feeling of this level. Somehow it's really scary. Must be the height, the colouring of the interior or something...

Also included replays for 20 and Bonus II (City), these are my fastest for both levels.  wink

Re: Neverball Extreme

I think part of the reason that V is so scary is that the perspective makes it seem as though each rail is slightly narrower than the previous one when you approach corners, yet it never actually gets thinner. There is also just being on a thin platform that you could easily fall off of and have to start over.

Re: Neverball Extreme

Even more fast-unlock replays from Extreme III

Joyride2: pushed really hard to get a good time here, I guess 2m18s is acceptable. I just couldn't find out why it is sometimes possible to avoid the bars in the first "exhibition corridor" and then again not. Is there any rule or trick - or is it just coincidence?

Halfpipes: one of my favourite levels from all CSY-sets returns in a new look cool Nice!
It's been a great pleasure to revisit this again - and to find out that my jump still works wink

Now I'm excited to see what's new in Extreme IV...
