Topic: Help extracting neverball application

Does anyone know how to extract the nb application to alot of c++ files?

I wanna do some changes to the game itself.

Well, you'd download the source code in that case. https://github.com/neverball/neverball

Do you know how to put it all together when it has been edited?

Re: Help extracting neverball application

What OS are you using? Usually, Linux is more suited to compiling software from source, but I did make a post a couple of years ago about building Neverball on Windows using MSYS. http://neverforum.com/fmpbo/viewtopic.php?id=2953

Re: Help extracting neverball application

Definitely try MSys2 then.

And Neverball is written in C, not in C++.

Re: Help extracting neverball application

One thing you need to watch out for when using Msys2 is which shell environment you are in. Make sure that your prompt shows MINGW64 (if you want to build a 64-bit version) or MINGW32 (if you want 32-bit), and NOT "MSYS".

When you install library packages, make sure you are installing for the right architecture. For example, if I'm building a 64-bit version (prompt shows "MINGW64"), then I need to install the x86_64 libraries.

pacman -Sy git mingw-w64-x86_64-gcc mingw-w64-x86_64-SDL2 mingw-w64-x86_64-SDL2_ttf mingw-w64-x86_64-libpng mingw-w64-x86_64-libjpeg-turbo mingw-w64-x86_64-libvorbis mingw-w64-x86_64-physfs

If you're using "MINGW32" (for a 32-bit build), just replace the x86_64 in the package names with i686.

Re: Help extracting neverball application

After you built it, there should be a neverball.exe in the current directory. You can type ./neverball.exe to run it.

Reaching high post numbers is a bad thing if they are not (mostly) good-quality posts. There is a reason that your rank is SpamBall and other people with similar post counts are at SometimesBall or OccasionallyBall.

You can use the git checkout command for that https://git-scm.com/docs/git-checkout

Is that not ironic? tongue In response to a post criticizing low-quality posting, you made the low-quality post "+1"... (although, admittedly, having a few low-quality posts among many good ones is perfectly fine)
