Topic: The next update

Neverball hasn't been updated since 2014, so here are some of my ideas:

1. Adding CSY's clockwork sets along with clocks being the new coin.

2. Adding adacrop's levelssets.

3. Adding chmod 700's levelset when it's finished.

4. Adding some community made balls users have made.

5. Adding Reshaun's Underwater bg for track8 and MSB's desert2 bg for track7.

i like idea of having menu item for changing goal/teleporter particle effects. also wut about adding at least your easy lvlset as official lvlset? your easy set are official looking and quite have official nb lvl feel smile . i have not tried your other lvls yet tho

the thing is the people who update nb seem to be busy as far as i can tell, such as people such as tones, elvis, and maybe parasti. who knows how long certain longer time poeople such as rlk dave shino jamminrose themacmeister have been away from the forum hmm

It would be awesome if they add my Easy set. But I kinda want to have all four sets finished and polished before adding to the official build. Plus, I'm n the middle of polishing my easy set too.

Also, if they decided to add Reshaun's levelsets, would they add in his backgrounds that he made? I hope so because some of these backgrounds look really amazing like Morning Alien. smile

    OK, my set is a long way off and will need some polishing. (In particular, in most cases I did without edge turf or any other edge decoration; most brushes are a turf on top and turf-grey on all other faces.) It should probably exist on the "other levels" page for a while before being in the main game.
    That is, unless you also add all iLevels, Ervin's set, and a compilation of the best levels of the unfinished/abandoned sets. (This might have to be two parts due to quantity of levels.)

i do not really think you would pair the quality of reshaun's ilvls with the quality of Ervin's set and a compilation of lvls in unfishished/abandoned. i think reshaun's ilvls are definitely much more official nb quality, style, feel, and look than these other lvls.

I'm talking about track7 & 8 made by ED49. Reshaun made an underwater and a desert bg for those songs on his website.
I actually use the underwater bg for track8. I use MSB's desert2 bg because I think Reshaun's desert doesn't match the song. (It looks cool though, but they don't match.)

It would also be pretty cool if they add 2 community sets full of repolished abandoned levels. Some of the abandoned levels are really cool.

this is wut i think abt ht-never's old notepad lvlset that dtb revived/re-uploaded (!yay!) big_smile in post 4 of this thread. this lvlset has original creative ideas and delightfully sorta cheap notepad texturing applied/done with notepad

ht- never has made some really cool levels in the past; especially Freeland Hard. Although, I don't like the reforges of his levels Killers and Roundway that he did before leaving in Freeland Hard. Killers is now way too easy, and Roundway is way too hard. They also don't look that good compared to the older versions.

Just thought of something new, what if you could have the texture for a brush change during the level? For example, when you hit an info_camp, a brush with the turf-green texture will change to the red texture. I think it's a really cool idea. smile

you could already do this with existing features. if you are making one face of a brush ch texture you could have 1 brush with invisible sides sitting inside the face of interest on the main brush. then when you press a switch this brush would move back 1 unit, and another brush 1 unit sitting inside the main brush would move 1 unit forward. both brushes would move with speed set to 0. -> you could make an entire brush change texture like this. make an invisible copy of the brush be sitting inside the visible brush. the visible brush is detail and the invisible brush is structural. then when you press a switch the visible brush zips high in the sky with speed set to 0. at the same time another visible detail brush high in the sky moves to the place of the invisible brush, again with speed 0.

    One thing I would like to see is the ability to set multiple paths on a moving object and have you be able to control which one actually gets taken. Like, a new kind of switch that if it is in state 1 then the object moves corner1 => corner2 => corner4 => corner6 but if the switch is in state 0 then the object moves corner1 => corner3 => corner5 => corner6. Seeing that you can merge paths (a => c and also b => c) it would also seem like you should be able to split paths.

About the community sets, there actually at least 75 good unofficial and misc levels to put in 3 sets called Neverball Advanced, Neverball Pro, and Neverball Expert.
