Topic: We need more subforums for the various level makers

So adacrop has so far made 4 level sets, and KodeBreaker plans to increase the existing 1 to 4 as well. I noticed that Tones, FWP, MYM, Reshaun, and CSY all have threads for their own levels (most of whom only made 1-2 sets).
Therefore it seems like we should have a subforum for each level maker who has made (say) at least 3 sets OR got their sets directly included in the official Neverball releases.

i voted no. i think it would be enough to simply look at the "see all topics posted" link in the profile page of these authors. when you look at this page for an author, you could use search command in your browser and search something like "levels" or "level set" and find the lvlsets easily. i think if each author with at least 3 sets got their own subform, it would clutter up the main page of the forum in maybe 1 yr at least after these current authors getting subforms. i think the main page woudl also get cluttered if say 2-3 more prolific nb authors came around over 2 yrs. i also jsut htink it seems odd for there to be a subform for the main apge to be dedicated basically entirely to one member.

I voted yes, but then I thought about it overnight and I agree with It the It. It would take up so much space. The users' levelsets should be on the Additional Levels page. But I think instead of a download button, it would link to the author's thread to download the levels in case if they change something in it.

As for the inclusion of sets in an official release I think we must not forget that most of these sets are still work-in-progress and that even the most polished and neatly crafted ones (like reshaun's) are being altered in parts and levels get replaced at times. In my opinion the inclusion in an official release would require to declare the set as fully realized first. Don't know if many sets could match the criteria.

I voted undecided because I don't believe it would make a big difference either to have their work stored in dedicated subforums or on the additional levels page. What I enjoy most about user based sets is to read through the whole related thread and  to learn something about the development of single levels, discussions about it, feedback on it and all that. That's the same here on the forums as it would be on subforums I guess

Cheers

not sure why, but this is a somehow amusing phrase big_smile

Either that, or have the download link and the link to the main thread of the lvlset, asin the additional lvls page on the old neverwiki. but then, i think it would be better to just have the links to main threads b/c for some threads it might be easier 2 find the main/latest lvlset download than in others.

Also idea: to combine the space-savingness of not adding subforms for certain authors and the convenience of having these subforms to find all related threads abt lvls by certain authors, wut if links to these threads were placed in the additional lvls page? but then the additional lvls page might get all cluttered. i think the solution might be to just look in the "see all threads posted by this user" pages in these author's profile pages and to use the search. in the search you would add one or more keywords, say author name, to find posts abt that author's lvls.

EDIT: btw i have a feel that somehow adding new subforums for lvls by certain authors would be redundant. according to this feel this is because i have a feel that the "all threads posted" in the user profile pages and the search tab with certain keywords filters (say you could check the box for the "level contributions" subforum) are already supposed to find various posts relevant to a certain topic, in this case, a all of a ceratin atuhor's lvls.
