Topic: A question to mappers

This is a question to mappers like Reshaun, Adacrop, Elviz, It The It, and more. How do you find good ideas? As I'm making my three other sets I'm starting to run out of creative and original ideas. I would really like some advice on making really good original and creative ideas.

Re: A question to mappers

  1. Take an existing level, find the one thing you do not like about it, and change that one thing.

  2. Find some clever trick, and make it so you have to do that trick to win the level or get more coins.

  3. Find two existing levels and mash their ideas together.

  4. Take a level from a previous set or earlier in the same set, and remove a feature that makes it easy OR add a feature that makes it difficult. (E.G. take NB Medium 13, and reverse it => 15, or KodeBreaker Easy 3 and remove some guard rails and half of the pipe at the end => KB Easy 19).

  5. Think of some challenge in another context (outside of Neverball) and try to implement it in Neverball. (E.G. Tones III, RdF III, or the large number of race levels.)

  6. Throw platforms randomly on the map and try to come up with an interesting way to move between them.

I myself am having trouble making level 20 because it is going to be the biggest level in the set and I need about 10-15 mini-challenges that you have to complete. And because I am doing things other than Neverball mapping in my spare time...

Others: Do not think that just because one person answered that you do not need to add your own advice.

unfortunately i am not really sure wut 2 say here. when i have ideas for nb lvls they just pop into my head when i am not exactly thinking about nb, when over time i write down names of lvls. for a few lvls that i have not made yet or are wip or hardly started, i have made some sketches and/or write a description. whenever you can i recommend you draw sketch(es) and/or write description, b/c these days there i have a lot of names of lvl ideas that i have not started making yet that i am afraid i will not be able to remember the details that well tongue

sort of off-topic: also btw i have a good deal of lvls from 2011-2012 that i have been trying to revise in places. some examples are wood'n'glass, balancing and bouncing, diamond trail saymore

mappers like Reshaun, Adacrop, Elviz, It The It, and more

EDIT: dranit 4got: i forgot 2 say that most of my nb lvl ideas, whether ones i have or have not built yet, came 2 me during timeframes of days where i was trying to have ideas for nb lvls. then in these time frames i would have ideas when not exactly thinking abt nb.
