Topic: Cheese's Ball Tutorials

HI people!

So, you'd like to make some balls?

You've come to the right place. I've just finished making a video tutorial which covers ball creation!

Over time, I'm going to flesh this thread out into a standalone tutorial, but for the moment, that's what we've got.

In this video, we look at creating three different types of balls for the Free/Open Source Game Neverball: a simple reskin, a ball with custom geometry (using Blender), and a multipart ball with differently moving parts (you can also grab these balls and others from my ball-extras repository).

Is it my hope that instead of providing an exhaustive tutorial, I've given enough detail on enough aspects of ball creation that anybody interested in making their own will have some idea of how to achieve that.

I'd love to hear from anybody who creates their own ball. Please consider posting your creations!

Enjoy!

This video originated as a talk for the Tasmanian Linux User Group (TasLUG) in December 2013.

Here's a quick preview of the three balls covered in the video!
