Topic: Freeland Skin-pack

Hi guys, seeing 1.6.0 will support skinning, I've done some custom skins and I'd like to share them with you. They are pretty ugly (now), but funny.

To install them, you need the development version. Just put them into your documents folder, in the subdirectory neverball-dev

Aqua
This skin is quite eye-candy, with a cute font and blue buttons.

Blue

Re: Freeland Skin-pack

This is cool, but I have to say that I don't really like the bundling of custom fonts together with the images. Localization relies on fonts with good internationalization support while custom fonts usually have poor i18n support. Fonts also directly alter the screen layout (to varying extent) and may break it in unexpected ways.

Re: Freeland Skin-pack

That's an important consideration.
I also think altering the font diminishes the games "cohesiveness" if you will, visually speaking.
I think skinning should enhance it, but I think switching up fonts kind of undermines  that somehow.

Eh, unluckily this is a real pain in the ass. I tried to use font which do not alter the screen layout, but I didn't do a good work. Still, this is just a try :-)
